Emily Hilscher, 19, Woodville, Va.

Emily Jane Hilscher, of Woodville, Va., was also killed in the dorm shooting. Hilscher was a freshman animal and poultry sciences major who lived next door to victim Ryan Clark. She came to Virginia Tech from rural Rappahannock County, where she was known as an animal lover, said family friend Will Nachless to The Associated Press. She "was always very friendly. Before I even knew her, I thought she was very outgoing, friendly and helpful, and she was great in chemistry."
