Henry Lee, 20, Roanoke, Va.
April 18, 2007 7:02 PM
Henry Lee was one of 10 children whose parents escaped from Vietnam. They left when Henry was 5. Lee was planning to major in computer science and French. According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Lee was his high school's salutatorian with a grade-point average of 4.47. Susan Lawyer Willis, his high school principal, recalled Henry's graduation speech. "He said to the crowd, 'When I came to this country, I couldn't speak English. Now, I'm No. 2 in the class.'
He valued his education. It was so heartfelt. It moved us all to tears. He was proud of his American citizenship," said the principal.
Lee enjoyed racquetball and frisbee, and was by all accounts a happy, upbeat person. A memorial is scheduled for him at his high school, William Fleming High School, in Roanoke, Va.

I pray for Mr.Lee's family that have endured so much. They did their best to provide educational and economic opporunities for him by escaping Vietnam. He was able to accomplish so much in his short life. God bless his family.

There are no words to leaven the pain of your loss and this tragedy. But the following is a humble offering that hopefully will bring some comfort, when you feel the sun shining again:
In the rising of the sun and in its going down, we remember them.
In the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter, we remember them.
In the opening of buds and in the warmth of summer, we remember them.
In the beginning of the year and when it ends, we remember them.
So long as we live they, too, shall live for they are now a part of us as we remember them.

A leader among leaders. From what I read about Henry he met lifes challenges and overcame them. What great charactor. What a testimony. Ultimately in death he is able to show millions of young people that you can be anything you want to be. My heart goes out to the family. My prayers are with you.

As you stand tall and proud on the day Henry delivered his high school speach, may you continue to be proud of your son forever.
Thanks for sharing with us what hard work and a generous fun heart looks like through your son and through your sacrifice and commitment to your family.
God bless.
