Ap_pohle_070419_blog Michael Pohle, from Flemington N.J., was known for his athletic ability and fun-loving, friendly nature. He was set to graduate in a few weeks with a degree in biological sciences.

His father, Michael Pohle Sr., told the Asbury Park Press that he was looking forward to a career in the sciences and had job interviews lined up for after graduation. "He was an absolutely great kid who loved people," Pohle Sr. said of his son. "He loved Virginia Tech. He would do anything for anybody."

Joel Nachlas, an industrial and systems engineering professor and Virginia Tech lacrosse coach, said: "There's no one who was more full of fun and life. Just a happy, fun, fun-loving kid. And everything he did, he was just always having a good time. He was making the most of it." The family intends to bring his body back to Flemington to be buried.

Freshmen year at Virginia Tech I had Freshmen Biology Seminar with Michael. I didn't know his name at the time because I always referred to him as "Jersey." He was outgoing with a confident and friendly personality that made me smile whenever I ran into him on campus. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Pohle family.

There are no words to leaven the pain of your loss and this tragedy. But the following is a humble offering that hopefully will bring some comfort, when you feel the sun shining again:

In the rising of the sun and in its going down, we remember them.

In the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter, we remember them.

In the opening of buds and in the warmth of summer, we remember them.

In the beginning of the year and when it ends, we remember them.

So long as we live they, too, shall live for they are now a part of us as we remember them.

It is so tragic to see the young ages of many of the victims. I am the same age as Michael. My heart and prayers go out to the Pohle family. Please know that the nation is grieving with you and you are not alone. We all have 32 beautiful angels looking over us now. Thoughts and prayers from NY. <3

Dear family and friends of Michael Pohle,

I recently drove past Hunterdon Central High School, and even though I did not know Michael, I wish I had.

I want to express my deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to you all, and to the entire Va. Tech community.

Michael was, by all accounts, a tremndous young man who loved life and those around him. I truly believe that he will continue touching everyone who loved him, and whom he loved.

I wish you all the very best in your time of need. Rest assurred that there are prayers and well wishes from all over the world, and may Michael rest in peace.

This event has been a total tragedy. We come together in great numbers ready to pray after the fact. We need to allow prayer too be present in our daily walk of life including the educational institutions. It has been proven over and over again that circumstances in life don't always follow our choice.
