Don't the Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time?

Remember the Mickey Gilley song "Don't the Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time?" Well, it turns out the boys all get prettier at closing time too. At least that’s the result of a study undertaken at the University of Bristol here in the U.K.
Eighty-four lucky students volunteered to be lab rats. Half were given a non-alcoholic, lime-flavoured drink, while the other half were given a similar-tasting drink, but with alcohol. After about fifteen minutes the students were shown photos of people of their same age of both sexes. Both the men and women who’d consumed the alcohol rated the faces as being more attractive than the control group did.
Marcus Munafo, a researcher in experimental psychology at the University of Bristol, tells ABC News that the students who had drunk the alcohol rated the faces in the photographs as being ten per cent more attractive than the group that had no alcohol...adding, "It was quite a big effect for quite a small amount of alcohol." In fact, the results of the study indicate that as little as a large glass of wine or a pint-and-a-half of beer is enough to make the girl or guy sitting on the barstool next to you appear more attractive than you might otherwise think. So next time someone tells you they did what they did because they had their beer goggles on…believe them.
